Diane Purcelli grew up in Madison, WI with a family background in horses.  Her passion for horses and speed events comes from her father’s side of the family as they hosted a rodeo  for over 40 years at their ranch.  She acquired her desire for learning all disciplines and loving the English side from her mother who showed gaited horses.

 She has always been fascinated with horses she participated in a variety of events from  4H Clubs to High School, and IPRA Rodeos before graduation.  She received a Rodeo Scholarship at Black Hills State College in Spearfish, SD. There she competed in Barrel Racing and was the Intercollegiate Great Plains Goat Tying Champion and Qualified for NIRA Finals 3 years in Bozeman, MT.

Diane graduated with a  B.S. double major in Business and Accounting and worked as an Auditor for the State of WI conducting municipality audits, then moved to the private sector as an accountant.  

 

Diane also conducts seminars across the country with Nevada Joe the only "NARHA Official Horse Ambassador"  a "Wild Mustang" and educating the public about the benefits of Equine Assisted Activities.  She also travels with Doc Holliday a Miniature Horse that stands 35” tall goes to schools with his TROTS program (Teaching Reading or Telling Stories with Doc) and visits VA Hospitals across the country and rides the elevator and visits patients in their rooms, while wearing his pink skeecher tennis shoes.

Diane enjoys working all of her horses with a lot of dressage exercises and the training methods she has acquired from several other professionals over the years.  Ernie puts the finishing touches and seasons the horses at the events and cattle drives or riding in the mountains.  All of the horses Team Rope - Barrel Race - Mounted Shoot and also are used in the summer at their therapeutic center riding camps, which she is a NARHA Certified Riding Instructor.

 WOW ~ means Way out West for Diane as she moved from Chicago, IL to a little town of 600 people in Darby, MT (Elev. 4,000 ft) and now spends the winters in Aguila, AZ.
